Insta360 just announced the new Insta360 Go 3 (Click here). I am pretty sure they will sell a ton of these! I wonder why Sony did never consider to make such action cameras, they are missing out a big market!
Yesterday I reported how Jim Rassol Sony 400mm GM lens has been destroyed by a baseball (article here). Today friends launched a GoFundMe project (Click here) to raise enough funds to get him a new lens. I contacted Jim Rassol and he confirmed this is a legit project started by friends. So feel free to contribute!
A foul ball destroyed this Sony 400mm GM lens from well known photographer Jim Rassol. His fiend J Pedroso told me that sadly the insurance doesn’t cover those kind of accidents. On a positive note, better the lens than his head!
Also Inverse seems to really like the new ZV-E1. They reviewed it and concluded:
Vlogging as a one-person team is a massive challenge in itself and Sony wants to make that much more approachable. As someone who has historically shied away from shooting video, the ZV-E1 showed me that it can be fun and simple. Even with my lackluster videography skills, I kept the camera on the Intelligent Auto mode for the most part and the footage still came out great. The ZV-E1’s powerful specs and ease of use made me more willing to dabble in video.
If you have some experience as a content creator, I’m positive the ZV-E1 will slot into your vlogging kit nicely. It may not be ideal for someone just dipping their toes into vlogging, but if you’re looking to take vlogging more seriously, the ZV-E1 is worth the investment.
Note: In video I made a small mistake: A6700 announcement 4,5 and not 3,5 months after registration :)
In China Sony registered the next new camera code “WW499972” for a camera that still has to be announced. In summary we now have two codes of cameras to be released. Both seem to be more “high end” models as they have dual 2.4GHz/5.1GHz support:
WW499972 2.4GHz/5.1GHz (Registered today on June 25)
WW542541 2.4GHz/5.1GHz (registered on March 1).
I believe the “WW542541” registered back in March is for the A6700. While the newly registered “WW499972” might be for a new A7cII. You will notice that in the past Sony announced the cameras exactly 3,5 (max 4,5) months after the registration:
WW198387 was the ZV-1II (Registration on February 3, Announced on May 23 ->3,5 months)
WW694956 was the ZV-E1 (December 12 announced on March 29 ->3,5 months)
This would mean:
WW542541 likely to be the A6700 (Registered on March 1, announcement rumored on July 12 ->4,5 months)
WW499972 likely to be the A7cII (Registered on June 25, announcement would be around mid October)
