Sigma 800mm f/6.3 E-mount lens rumor has just become more likely!

Share

Image on top shows the “old” Sigma 800mm f/5.6 lens

Last week a Weibo source, reported that Sigma might announce a new 800mm f/6.3 full-frame E/L mount lens at the CP+ show.

Today, a trusted source told me that it is very likely that this rumor could turn out to be true. Sigma has invited a number of influencers to a special event in Japan. So there will definitely be a big announcement before the CP+ show!

So it looks more likely than ever that by end of this month we will have two 800mm FE lenses, the Sony 400-800mm f/6.3-8.0 and the Sigma 800mm f/6.3.

This is not a joke, folks: Tamron and Godzilla partners at the CP+ show

After devastating entire cities Godzilla has found new peace and purpose by following his true passion: Photography :)

What you are about to read is a real press release from Tamron Japan:

Tamron to launch Godzilla collaboration booth at CP+2025

Tamron Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Shogo Sakuraba), a comprehensive manufacturer of optics, will operate a collaboration booth with Godzilla, the monster most famous in Japanese cinema, at CP+ 2025, the world premiere show for cameras, photography and imaging, to be held at Pacifico Yokohama from Thursday, February 27 to Sunday, March 2, 2025.

This exhibition will display Godzilla and Mechagodzilla, which appeared in the Godzilla series. Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (2002) and Godzilla vs. Mothra vs. Mechagodzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. (2003), in which Mechagodzilla appears, depict a fierce battle between Godzilla and the Kiryu, which was developed based on the bones of the original Godzilla, and are still popular with many fans today. At
the exhibition, you can not only experience the powerful figure of Godzilla up close, but you can also take pictures freely with the experience cameras and lenses displayed at the booth. The exhibition is enjoyable not only for Godzilla fans, but also for those who are experiencing Godzilla for the first time. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the history and evolution of monster movies!

Tamron will set up a booth at CP+2025 where you can enjoy the charm of special effects movies and Tamron lenses through the following content.

  • Godzilla & Kiryu Type 3 Diorama Display: A diorama based on the set of a special effects movie will be displayed in the booth. Visitors can freely enjoy shooting using the installed Tamron lenses.
  • Special Effects Demo Experience: A special effects shooting demo corner using the “Touch & Try Counter” slider. Visitors can experience shooting videos as if they were in a scene from the movie.
  • Macro Lens Experience Corner: A corner will be set up where you can experience close-up shooting using Tamron’s macro lenses, with Godzilla and a mini diorama as the subject.
  • Special Offers: “TAMRON | Godzilla” Original Sticker Gift. The first 300 people to register as new members for a TAMRON ID at the CP+ venue will receive a “TAMRON | Godzilla” original sticker.
  • Booth Concept Movie Release: The “TAMRON | Godzilla” booth concept movie will be screened on the large screen in the booth.

Cryptic message from TTArtisan: announces the launch of an ‘unprecedented’ product

Share

TTartisan posted this teaser image for the launch of an ‘unprecedented’ product. I don’t know if this is a lens that no one has ever made, or maybe something else entirely. In the picture you can see a Deepseek AI chat, which makes no sense to me at all:

  • Question: DeepSeek, what product do you think that is?
  • Answer from Deepseek: Am I trying to burn out my GPU?

And on Facebook/X they shared this message:

Meet TTArtisan at CP+ 2025 in Japan
📅 Date: Feb 27 – Mar 2, 2025 (10:00 – 18:00 JST)
📍 Location: 1-1-1, Minato Mirai Nishi-ku Yokohama Japan
🎪 Booth No. 49
We’ll be showcasing a new product coming soon!
Can you guess what it is?
Stay tuned for the first look! 🎉

Feel free to guess what this buzz is all about.

Oh yeah…Sony A1II now in stock with a $9444 price tag on Amazon

Share

Sony is struggling to ramp up production to meet demand for the new Sony A1II. If you absolutely need it now, you’ll have to pay a whopping $9,444 on Amazon (click here if you don’t believe me).

Note: A source told me that Sony was able to increase production and the shortage should be resolved soon. So please don’t pay the $3,000 surcharge just yet!
