Ambivalence short film shot on the A7s

Ambivalence from Lammens & Lahousse on Vimeo.

Maximousse (SonyAlphaForum) shared this great short film shot on the A7s:

Two female filmmakers,
one writer and director,
one director of photography,

are proud to present you …

AMBIVALENCE is a short that tells the story of Nora, who lives a very eccentric life.
She looks at her life as if it’s a rollercoaster that’s only going up.
But Nora doesn’t realize that her cheerful nature might also have a very dark edge.

Shot on A7S.
Samyang VSLR lenses – 24/35/50/85.
1080HD / 25 and 50 fps internal recording.
Grading in DaVinci Resolve.
No animals were harmed ;)

Fivepin:In the last year I purchased a Sony A77ii to fill the spot of my aging a77 apsc camera. The new model was a wonder of technology and a fantastic tool. That being said however I noticed using the same high end glass on the new camera as the original A77 was not giving me the same results. Many of the shots were not as sharp as they should have been. Well after doing many hours of testing on the system I figured out what is going on. I am not sure why the new camera with its new technology has this issue, but I can show you what feature is causing the issue, show you examples and show you how to solve the problem. You will have to shut off a new feature to fix this problem. I made this video months ago and have had hundreds of others confirm the issue with their A77ii. What I would like to see is if this issue persists in E mount or the new A99ii. As a community we need to test this further and work with Sony to fix the software. Shutting off the software will work. But in the end it would be nice to use the stabilized shutter feature as I am a nature photographer and shoot a lot of long lenses. Check out the video below to see my test comparison and results. Leave me message on the video link and lets get this resolved! https://youtu.be/8NE-E9GMnGo

Sony 85mm f/1.8 FE image samples and MTF graph

Share

The Sony 85mm f/1.8 FE has the potential to quickly become one of the favorite lenses of the FE range. On the downside it is more expensive than the Nikon 85mm or Canon 85mm equivalent lenses. But I guess that like it happened with the 50mm FE the lens will get some price drop later. Moreover this is a new lens designed for high-resolution sensors (and the MTF graph is promising). So here are a couple of interesting bits about that lens:
