Question to my readers: Best gear to scan film with Sony A7rV camera

Share

Hi Folks!

I am currently investigating the ideal setup to scan my 35mm and 120mm film rolls using my Sony A7rV. If you have some experience in this please let me know what your gear is. For now this is the gear that is on my shopping list:

Lens: Laowa 90mm 2:1 macro lens (maybe short focal length would be better?)
Scan kit: Valoi 360 (Would love ot get the Negative supply kit but this we can’t buy in Europe).
Copy Stand: Novoflex ms repro
Head: Manfrotto 234rc
Mat: Ansio cutting mat.
Software: NegativeLabPro.

One ore thing regarding development kit:
I am highly intrigued by this gear made by a German Chemist: https://www.filmomat.eu/light

WILD RUMORS about a new FX50

Share

We can be 99% certain the next Sony camera to be announced is a new videocamera. Most likely a new FX E-mount model. I got no info from trusted sources about the possible specs. So here is one of the “WILD” rumors I got:

The Super 35mm variant of the ILME-FX6 seems to be coming next year. It appears to be called the ILME-FX50 with 8-speed IBIS, variable e-ND. It is known to support 4K/120p recording, with its resolution not officially specified to dealers. I don’t know if it will continue to use the ILME-FX30’s sensor, or if it will use a lower resolution sensor similar to the ILME-FX6, such as quad-bayer binning variant for the X-H2’s sensor.

What are your thoughts on this?
