Sony wins multiple Tipa Awards….but there’s a catch

Share

The Tipa association announced the 2025 winners. But keep in mind that these awards have a bad reputation.TIPA does receive money from companies—especially through logo licensing fees—and while it claims editorial independence, many in the photo community treat its awards with a grain of salt.

That’s why they create as many categories as possible to sell their fees to manufacturers :(

More tariff craziness: Amazon US avoids tariffs and offers some Sony lenses through Amazon EU shops to avoid duties?

Share

Amazon has completely removed the pre-order option for the new Sony 400-800mm G lens. And there is also a strange circumvention of customs duties from Chinese manufactured lenses: For some lenses like the Sony 135mm GM (click here) Amazon US allows import via Amazon Germany to avoid customs duties? Would that even work?

Here is the availability update on the twenty Sony lenses manufactured in China:

Wild rumor: I got info about another second Sony lens coming soon…

Leaked image of the new Sony 50-150mm f/2.0 GM.

So guys, probably next week on the 23rd of April Sony will introduce the new 50-150mm f/2.0 GM lens. But today I got an info about a second lens. And I don’t know yet if this lens will be announced on the 23rd of April or in June. If confirmed this is a “sort of” successor of THIS LENS. I am asking my sources to possibly tell me more about this lens as I am not sure if this information is real yet. Thank you!
