Only a marketing gig? Angelbird now offers SD cards as “Match Pack for Sony Cameras”

Angelbird launched these new “Match Pack for Sony Cameras” on Amazon and BHphoto. They write that:

Preorders open! US preorders open for the new Sony 85mm f/1.4 GM II lens

Sony 85mm f/1.4 GM II preorder links:
USA:
Amazon, BHphoto, Adorama.
Europe: FotoErhardt, FotoKoch, Calumet, WexUK.

Sony US has the completely useless and harmful policy of opening up preorders 24 hours after every product announcement. So they basically create a lot of hype with all the influencers and press releases and then NOT offer pre-orders. Unbelievable :)

Anyway, here comes the question for all my readers:

Will you preorder the new Sony 85mm f/1.4 GM II lens?

My quick two cents on this lens:
Like every GM lens produced by Sony, this is an excellent lens with only one flaw–it’s a bit pricey! If you want to save some money, consider buying the Sigma 85 mm f/1.4 instead. It is almost as good as the Sony for $710 less!

My brief thoughts on the need for an 85mm f/1.2:
Sony had to update the old GM lens, and it makes no sense to launch an f/1.2 before this update. A GM f/1.2 would be heavier, bulkier, more expensive, and therefore a niche product. Nevertheless, I think Sony should focus on making an 85 mm f/1.2, especially since the competition offers this option and Sony cannot ignore it.
