WD is developing SanDisk 8TB SDUC UHS-I card and 16TB portable SSD

WD Japan announced the development of two “world’s first” products:

  1. Western Digital is debuting revolutionary high-capacity, high-performance flash-based consumer products, including the world’s first SanDisk® 4TB* microSDUC™ UHS-I card and the world’s first SanDisk® 8TB* SDUC™ UHS-I card, designed for tomorrow’s smartphones, gaming devices, drones, cameras and laptops.
  2. High-capacity SSD demonstrations: World’s first 16TB* portable SSD concept and a 16TB* SanDisk® Desk Drive SSD demonstration, delivering unprecedented capacity and performance to address the increasing creation and consumption of rich, engaging content.

Do we really need 8TB SD cards? Your call :)
