This is the design of the Tamron 25-50mm f/2.0 FE lens!

A newly published Tamron patent describes the design of a 25-50mm f/2.0 Full Frame lens for mirrorless cameras. It appears to have 19 elements, which is the same number of the Canon 28-70mm f/2.0. It also has inner zoom. while patents are no proof that this lens will make it into mass production I have the feeling that this one might really coming in 2024!

Inside the very same patent there are two more designs:

  • 15-28mm f/2.8 (which appears only to be a variation of the currently existing 17-28mm f/2.8)
  • 24-70mm f/4.0
