Anonymous: “Not a rumor, and not related to Sony, but might be interesting. Imaging sensors have problems capturing light at high incident angles. This affects design of wide-angle and large aperture lenses, making them bigger and heavier. It seems that the ultimate cure is finally found by a research team from Aalto University. Their sensor captures 96% of light at an angles up to 70 degrees across the visible spectrum (+UV and near IR).
