Sony 16mm and 400-800m G lenses to be announced today!
Sony didn’t tease anything but I am going to tell you that today at around 2-3pm London time Sony will announce the two new lenses. A source also added some more tidbits on the 400-800mm G:
- it is just slightly larger than a 200-600, almost not noticeable,
- and the whole feel is like that lens. What is different is:
- tripod foot is not removable without tools, unlike most of the Sony feet so far.
- Lens hood has a button like usually G lens hoods, and also the window for rotating filters.
- And the lens IS sharp, very sharp, unlike some rumors suggested so far. Tried it on a7IV, a1 and a9III.
- I think it is going to be a winner for anyone who needs this range.
