If you own the DJI Mic 2 you have to buy the adapter

Share

The new DJI Mic 2 Camera Adapter for Sony cameras is now in Stock at Amazon US&EU and at DJI store. This is a MUST buy accessory if you own the new DJI Mic 2 (Amazon US&EU, DJI store, BHphoto, Adorama.)

Philip Bloom tested it and wrote:

If you own a Sony cameras and these then it’s a no-brainer as it only cost me about £30 from the DJI store.
You need to update the firmware of the Mic 2 for this work. I’ve put the compatibility list in the comments. It worked on the FX6, FX3, a7siii, a1 and a7iv.
Whilst the RØDE Wireless Pro are a better set as they come with lav mics and have timecode, these are still great and are now the best budget dual wireless microphone system for for the Sony miShoe now. I’ve only come across one other that isn’t by Sony which is from Godox, but they aren’t in the same league. Don’t forget the DJI Mic 2 transmitters also record internally in 32 bit float.

Sony is rumored to launch a 1 inch sensor smartphone named Xperia Pro C

Share

We all wonder if Sony will ever launch a new RX100 camera (I guess not). But rumors are getting stronger about that very same 1 inch sized sensor being used on a new Sony smartphone. Sony insider reports:

There seems to have been a new development on the Xperia Pro series line of smartphones. The phone which is speculated to be called as Xperia Pro C, a successor to the Pro-I, which may also adopt a compact form factor, a stark difference to Sony’s usual 6.5″ displays for its top tier smartphones. Some of the specs which were leaked includes: – A 6.0″ 120 Hz, 2K resolution OLED with Anti- reflection coating. – Snapdragon 8Gen 3 with 12/256 as the base skew, possibly. – 5000 mAh battery with a revamped 45W PD charging. Camera specs include: – 50 MP 1.0″ , 20 MM, f/1.8 with OIS, support for 12 Bit RAW and 14 Bit DCG RAW (maybe an OmniVision sensor). – 12 MP with AF, with support for 4K 120 FPS 10 Bit 420 S -LOG gamma curve and HLG support. Also support for JPG/60 FPS RAW, with AE/AF and support for Sony S-Cine-tone and creative look – 12 MP F 1/2.9″, 20mm, F 2.0 with support for 4K 60 FPS HDR and Sony Creative look.

The Xperia Pro C might be announced in late 2024.

The new Panasonic S9 is the first true Sony ZV-E1 competitor…there is one interesting new feature Sony should “copy”

Share

Lumix S9 Amazon, BHphoto, Adorama, BestBuy, Panasonic US shop, FotoErhardt, FotoKoch, Calumet, WexUK, Panasonic UK shop.

The Panasonic Lumix S9 is the first true Sony ZV-E1 competitor. But the most important news that caught my attention is that Panasonic is going all out when it comes to its LUT ecosystem. They have launched a new APP that allows you to download LUTs from Panasonic and other creators, upload your own LUTs and so on.

Sony should also think about expanding its portfolio of ‘styles’ with new features and possibly even better branding. Call them ‘movie styles’ to appeal to the younger generation of content creators! And yes, in my dreams I hope to get some official Kodak styles one day!

The massive Sigma 200-500mm f/2.8 lens (listed here at BH) was quite a popular “Clickbait” lens that made a lot of publicity for Sigma. This week Asobinet reported the lens has been officially discontinued.

UPDATE: Petapixel now reports that this lens has NOT been discontinued.

Now, if you absolutely want to own this lens you can still find a few lenses in Stock on eBay:

And here is the official spec sheet from Sigma:

And if you wanna see how good this lens performs Tom Calton once tested this lens on his Sony camera:
