I always liked the Sony RX100s series but it doesn’t look like Sony plans to launch any update in that regard. But yesterday I tried the funny Insta 360 RX that uses two of the Sony 1 inch sensors used by the RX100II…and it costs $500 less :)
Of course I am comparing apple with oranges here…but still…impressive work from Insta!
As you know I live in the middle of the alps and love to hike and bike . While I take all my mountain shots with the Sony A7rV and Tamron 28-200mm FE lens and I do plan to use the Insta 360 RS to record my tours. A trusted source told me that Sony will have a product announcement by end of May. We will get the new ZV1 successor. So this isn’t really the camera we were all waiting for. But hold on with me, there will be more Sony product announcements in June/July! We will get new lenses and after that also the A6700 in early July.
One other trusted source told me that Sony actually anticipated some product announcements. He didn’t share more details but it may means that the original early July announcement for the A6700 might be anticipated. I also got some possible A6700 specs I will post soon. Stay tuned folks, don’t despair, many great lenses and cameras will be announced in June/July and, September/October ;)

We have the new top dog in town now. Compare with Sony, angelbird has faster write speed (more critical for buffer clearing) while Sony has faster read speed.

Interesting enough, the test above was done using the Sony card readers. If you use the Angelbird card reader the results are clearly on favor of the Angelbird cards:
The difference is explained by the fact that the Angelbird card reader is using gen2x2 usb-c 3.2, while Sony uses gen2.
