An “emotional” SR5 rumor (A77 is top notch!!!)

Share

Firstly: I want to thanks all sources for all the help you are giving to me. I am trying to post all the info you send me as soon as possible. And most of the rumors I do receive are ….awesome ;)

Secondly: There is one thing I want to tell to all readers. Plenty of people contacted me to say that they tested the A77, the NEX-C3 and other upcoming Sony stuff. They don’t share specs, they share their excitement! There is not a single one that complained about the upcoming new cameras. They are all using an enthusiastic tone! The A77 especially is amazing and the best APS-C camera they have ever tested. The good news is that High-ISO is extremely good even if the sensor has 24 Megapixel. And Sony is already working very hard to implement the new sensor technology inside the future fullframe cameras. Everything with the A77 seems to be fine, usability, autofocus (extremely fast and accurate), High ISO, resolution. And also the NEX-C3 is a step above the current NEX-3/5.

I repeat, those are not Sony advertisers. I know some of the sources since a very long time and they would never express such an excitement if it wouldn’t be true. I for myslef am going to spend more time on SonyAlphaRumors. I think it’s necessary to be more “present” in times like that. I also want to find some time to improve some things on this website ->don’t ask me to improve my english as that will take a very long time :)

So fix those dates in your agende: June 3 and July 7! And invite your friends to follow us! Canonikans should be very worried!!!

(SR2) A77 with directional side-hinged LCD (a new design not yet seen before)???

Share

A new source sent me lots of info about the upcoming new Sony products. I am trying to double-check the rumors with other sources. But meanwhile I am going to post an info I heard for the very first time with a low SR2 rating (unconfirmed rumors from unknown source). So take that with a grain of salt!

The source confirmed the A77 is coming in July and said it will be available with the new 16-50/2.8 kit lens too. He also said the “it has directional side-hinged LCD” and that it is a “new design not yet seen before“. The [shoplink 3617]Sony A55[/shoplink] LCD hangs at the bottom-center of the camera.

Hope my sources can confirm or deny that soon. Thanks to the anonymous sender and all the sources that can help me on that!

Reminder (SR = Sonyrumor):
SR1=probably fake rumor
SR2=rumor from unknown sources
SR3=50% chance it is correct
SR4=rumor from known sources
SR5=almost certainly correct!

Yasuhara shows a new macro lens for E-mount with 5x magnification

Share

The japanese company Yasuhara announced a new amcro lens for NEX named “Nanoha”. It has a 5x magnification and can take spectacular photos (Click here to see their online gallery).  The Nonoha’s website says about the lens: “The magnification is much more than ordinary macro lens. The magnification is up to x5. It means 1 pixel on the picture is about 1 micrometer on the shooting target. With NANOHA, you can find small wonders easily without using microscopes. And we added some patented features for your good shooting.

Yasuhara is a one man company that made Cameras and Lenses compatible with the Leica M-system ([shoplink 7085 ebay]CLick here to see some of their stuff on eBay[/shoplink]). They know will release that lens for mirrorles systems + two more lenses during the year 2011.

Preorder the new Samyang/Rokinon/Wallimex 35mm f/1.4 manual lens for Alpha Mount.

Share

I was wondering why I couldn’t find any preorder option of the new Samyang 35mm f/1.4 manual lens. Finally I discovered that in US and Europe the lens has a different “name”. It’s called Rokinon in US and sometimes called Wallimex in Europe (why?). You can preorder the lens for $499 at Amazon (Click here). Didn’t found the lens in european stores.

P.S.: The real bargain is the 85mm f/1.4 you can get for $274 on Amazon (Click here).

Detailed Sony digital camera financial report (increase of interchangeable single lens cameras sales)

Share

Sony published the detailed financial report. There are couple of info regarding the digital camera segment:
1) The expected operating income increase is partially offset by the negative impact of the Earthquake, which is anticipated to primarily affect components and compact digital cameras.
2) In the CPD segment, sales decreased due to lower sales of products such as components and compact digital cameras. This decrease was partially offset by higher sales of interchangeable single lens cameras.

My guess is that Sony NEX cameras were much more successful than they had expected. At least in Japan were we can see the exact sales (See BCNranking) we can notice that Sony NEX cameras are selling more than Panasonic and Olympus Micro Four Thirds cameras. That’s a huge surprise if you do consider the lack of lenses for the E-mount system.
