2011 is the year for Sony professionists!

Share

Here I am again working on new rumors! Photokina is over and it didn’t bring us any new [shoplink 3228]A700[/shoplink] or [shoplink 3032]A900[/shoplink] successor. But the last 4-5 weeks I received many rumors about those cameras and the new lenses. I thank all anonymous sources for sending me the info. I didn’t post most of those rumors because I wanted to double-triple check everything with other sources. In those days I learned that the rumors I received about the A77, A950 and the new Zeiss and Sony G lenses have proven to be 90% correct. So I will start to post some rumor soon.

What I can tell you now is that 2011 will be a very exciting year for professionists. New High-end APS-C and a new fullframe camera will be announced. And both will be from ground up redesigned cameras with some very advanced technologies. There will be new Zeiss primes/zooms and also High-end NEX cameras and lenses. I have only two bad news:

1) It looks like Sony stopped the development of the firmware upgrade for current [shoplink 3032]Sony A850/A900[/shoplink] cameras. The reason is that they had issues with the software of those cameras.
2) The A77 and A950 (tentative name) will not be announced during the first 4-5 months of 2011. So we have still to wait a little bit :(

Yes I do agree with you, Sony is late with the A77 and A950. We all expected those camera to be announced in 2010. But my sources told me that this happened because Sony wanted to bring some very advanced innovation with those cameras. So let’s wait and see…

To all my sources: It would be nice if we cans tay in touch so please create a fake email account to contact me. I would love to stay in touch with you. Thanks :)

Bye!
Andrea

(SR2) Sony A77 with two semi-transparent mirrors?

Share

The sketch above has been designed by the anonymous rumor source.

Last night I received following message from a new source. Beeing a new source means that you have to be very careful with the info he gave me. I don’t know yet if he is telling me the truth!

The message:

Yesterday Sony explained the new system that will be used for the incoming a77 (the a750 will use a regular SLR design). Practically the are using two semi-transparent mirrors and a high-resolution EVF to reinforced the live image. They are using a reflexive technology design called 70/30, between each semi-transparent mirrors.
The final image in the viewfinder will have 30% of original image and 70% of electronic reinforced image through the new EVF.

Message to the anonymous sender: Can you create a fake email account and contact me? Would be nice if we can stay in touch together! Thanks!

Reminder (SR = Sonyrumor):
SR1=probably fake rumor
SR2=rumor from unkown sources
SR3=50% chance it is correct
SR4=rumor from known sources
SR5=almost certainly correct!

Sony A55 reviews and Sony NEX-VG10 impressions

The korean website SLRclub posted a new detailled Sony A55 review. As you might now they publishe the text as a jpeg so you can’t translate it with any computer software. Anyway there are so many image samples and graphics that makes it worth to check it out.

Luminous Landscape is testing the Sony A55 and now writes that “I continue to be impressed by the A55, though when used alongside the A900 the EVF does leave something to be desired. Image quality doesn’t though, and while only 16MP vs 24MP, IQ is excellent, displaying at least two stops lower noise than the A900 at higher ISOs.

Also the japanese Ascii.jp (google english translation) website tested the Sony A55.
