UPDATE_2: The Zeiss 24mm for Nex is now back(!) in Stock at Amazon (Click here). Just click on In Europe the lens is already in Stock at Amazon UK (Click here), Sonystore Germany (Click here), Sonystore France (Click here), Sonystore Netherland (Click here), Sonystore Sweden (Click here) and in Japan at Amazon.jp (Click here).
Steve Huff (Click here) compared the new Zeiss 24mm for NEX with the just announced SLRmagic 23mm lens. The Zeiss in undoubtedly much sharper. Steve writes: “The SLR Magic is actually a very nice lens and the only weakness I found in my quick testing is the barrel distortion. When shooting straight lines or buildings this will be evident.” And there are some 100% blowups from the Sony Zeiss 24mm f/1.8 at Soundimagesplus (Click here).
That Zeiss lens is nice and I hope Sony will release more of such lenses soon!
The NEX-7 is shipping to our US readers :)
Luminous Landscape (Click here) posted a new post within their NEX-7 rolling review. They compared the NEX with the expensive Leica M9 fullframe camera ([shoplink 5502 ebay]Click here to check price on eBay[/shoplink]). To compare the two camera image quality they used the same [shoplink 10680 ebay]50mm f/1.4 Summilux ASPH lens[/shoplink] on both cameras. Conclusion: “There is no question (to my eyes at least) that the Sony sensor out-resolves the Leica using the same lens.”
What do you think? Amazing or not? Imagine what a fullframe NEX-9 or A99 will do. Leica really has to invent something on their sensor strategy to keep up with Sony.
One more news: SonyAlphaRumors reader “Brad” just sent me these pictures showing the very first stock of NEX-7 that has been shipped via SonyStore USA. As you see he uses the super [shoplink 10681 ebay]Minolta 50mm f/1.2 lens (here on eBay)[/shoplink] on it! Click on the thumbnails below to enlarge the image.
P.S.: Sony NEX-7 preorder search(!) links [shopcountry 8454]. You might don’t find NEX-7 preorder at all :(

Here is a short post about two professioanl camcorders. One of them is the [shoplink 6170]NEX FS100[/shoplink] which comes with an E-mount. Wideopencamera (Click here) posted a review: “I don’t love it, but I do turn to the FS before the 5D and that never used to be the case. I just trust it way more.” And Slashcam.de (Click here) reports that Sony will release a new NEX-FS100 firmware update in march 2012. You will be able to switch from PAL to NTSC, new 1080 24p PAL recording, camera settings can be stored on cards, epxanded focus, ISO display on LCD, and more…
A rumor about the F3 successor: Philip Johnston from HDwarrior says: “I think we may see a new F5 around NAB time certainly with 50Mbs capability if not better, 10 bit 4:2:2 and dare I say it 4K recording with a better hi res viewfinder rather than the pull out version seen on the F3 today.”
