(SR5) And here are new A65 pictures

Share

You can’t rest for a moment in these days! The dpreview forum user named Stratross posted a set of A65 pictures. Are those leaks real? Of course! As usual click on the image to enlarge the size!

As you know the A65 shares the same 24 Megapixel sensor of the A77. The only differences are:
A77 has 19 point AF system with 11 cross sensors while the A65 has only 3 cross sensors.
A77 can do 12 fps while the A65 can do 10fps.
A77 has new 3 way tilting LCD, A65 has “classic” tilting LCD
A77 can do 50 ISO while A65 can not.
The A77 has a magnesium body while the A65 has not.
The A77 has 1/8000 shutter while A65 has a 1/4000 shutter
The A77 has a top LCD screen while the A65 has it not.
The A77 is Dust and Moisture proof while the A65 is not

(SR5) More new A77 leaks and NEX-7 render

Share

This is never going to end! There is a new set of leaked images found via DChome! The most interesting image is the new NEX-7 reander (it doesn’t look like a real NEX-7 image). Below you can find the A77 picture. Click on them to enlarge the image!

P.S.: Meanwhile the german website that yesterday posted those nice A77 image had to remove the images from his website.

(SR5) A77 comment by sources

Share

And here are two more A77 reports coming from two sources:

Source_1: I can confirm the A77 pictures are real – they match the unit I’m holding in my hands now. FYI, the 16-50 is a mixed metal/plastic lens, like the [shoplink 6050]CZ 24-70[/shoplink]. Autofocus is as fast and quiet as the 24-70. As for the D-range button, the buttons on the A77 are massively customizable, you can assign a different function to each! And the smart teleconverter can be switched to a 100% live view magnification.

Source_2: I am just looking at a few pics taken with the [shoplink 6050]CZ 24-70[/shoplink] and the new sensor. So crispy it tears our eyes out plus a bit of moire…now we know why those expensive lenses are are there :) With 24 Megapixel the pictures also look more “wide eyed” and “deeper”.

Reminder: Sony will announce all the new stuff on Wednesday August 24! This includes the A77, A65, 16-50 f/2.8 lens, vertical grip for the A77, NEX-7, NEX-5N, BG20, Zeiss 24mm f/1.8 for E-mount, 50mm f/1.8 OSS for E-mount, 55-210mm OSS for E-mount and new external EVF for the NEX-5N. Be sure to be online at SAR to follow the Sony announcement!

Support this site: I am having a lot of fun to work on SAR. I don’t use dozens of banners and I don’t get paid by any company to do what I do. All the work you see here is made by me during my free time. If you want to help me to cover the monthly server costs there is an easy way: Click on affiliate links you see on that website like [shopcountry 3028] to buy whatever product you want (it doesn’t have to be a camera) and I will earn a small commission from it. You don’t pay any penny more on the items you buy and at the same time you support SonyAlphaRumors without me having to put 100 banners on my website. Cool or not? Thanks :)

(SR3) A77/65 and Nex-7/5N availability in Asia (with price)

Share

Our Japanese friend from Digicaminfo just got a rumor from their Asian sources (Click here to read the google English translation).

  • NEX-5N will be released on September 9. 18-55mm + 55-210mm / f4.5-6.3 Double Zoom Kit on sale in October and November.
  • 2.53 million dot external EVF sells for 35,000 yen (450 dollar)
  • A65 will be released in mid-October. Expected selling price of ¥ 95 000 for body only (1200 dollar)
  • A77 will be released in mid-October. 150 000 yen for the body only (1960 dollar)
  • NEX-7 will be released on November 11. Expected selling price of ¥ 130 000 for the body (1700 dollar).

A warning, the prices in YEN are vey high and I converted it in dollar by using yahoo exchange calculator. But keep in mind that usually prices in US are much lower! An example: The NEX-C3 costs $744 at Amazon Japan and $649 at Amazon US.

UPDATE: I am in contact with the author of the blog. He also believes the price is too high! He will aks the soruce if he didn’t mean the price with kit lens and not body only!!!

New Sony A35 review

Share

[shoplink 7419][/shoplink]
The British website Trustedreviews (Click here) posted the final Sony A35 test: “While attention is naturally drawn to the super-fast AF and continuous shooting abilities of the A35, what really impresses is overall image quality“. Don’t forget to read the full test to see why they like the camera!
Also CNET Asia (Click here) tested the same camera: “The A35 is a subtle update to the Alpha range of SLRs and while it won’t be a game-changer, it’s certainly good at what it doe“. On their website you can see a couple of image/video samples and tests.

The new Sony A35 is in Stock at [shopcountry 7419].
