Two Sony sensors compared (on Nikon)

The Sony 36 megapixel sensor used by the Nikon D800 (and D800E).

Peter from Nikonrumors compared the Nikon D600 (with Sony 24MP sensor) and the Nikon D800E (with Sony 36MP) sensor. I thought it would be interesting to link to it because we may have a high end FF model from Sony which sues the same 36MP sensor. TO be honest I don’t see that much difference in noise and resolution between the two cameras. Of course we have tot ake into the account thet the image form the D800E has been downsampled but I would have expected to see more detail on that crop…

Sony changes the RX1 specifications (AF-C gone, 1:4000 shutter coming)

Sony Japan just announced some changes on the newly announced RX1 FF camera. As you see from the image on top the AF-C Auto Focus option has been removed. The second change is that the Shutter Speed Priority now goes as fast as 1:4000 (before it was 1:2000).

One more news. I updated the full rpeorder option list fo the new RX1 and other Sony cameras on Alphacameradeals (including more Sonystore, BHphoto and Europe links). Please be aware that we are not going to talk about the details of the single camera yet (like price, features and so on).
