Today all US stores changed the shipment start of the A9III from Feb 23 to Feb 21 (see at BHphoto. Amazon. Adorama). 300mm GM still scheduled to ship from Feb 23.

Chinese leakier “guesses” the possible Sony 2024 camera roadmap

Chinese leaker E8M_8888 has shared many correct info on Sony sensor releases and camera registrations. He now attempted to guess a possible Sony camera roadmap for 2024. I see people took this “wishlist” as more serious than it is…so please take it with a huge dose of sepsis. He wrote:

• ZV-E10 II with same A6700 sensor (no mechanical shutter),
• A7M5 49MP
• A6200 26MP
• A7S4 40MP (new processor features)
• FX3 II 12MP (electronic ND + IBIS).
• As for the A1 II, it is more likely to be a selling point together with new processor features.

The price of the 10mm f/2.8 FF AF lens has been leaked through google shop. This contains a link to this “private” Venus Optics URL: https://www.venuslens.net/product/private-laowa-10mm-f-2-8-ff-zero-d/ref/5/. The lens is coming to your home on Jan 31.
I guess official preorders will open any time soon!

Sony a9 III Sensor Testing by Gerald Undone: Best body Sony ever made, and you can increase the dynamic range!

Gerald Undone did a Sony A9III image test and actually discovered a way to gain Dynamic Range:

It appears the Sony A9III has a different more “RAW” noise level (in video) than other Sony cameras like the Sony A7IV. If you work it out the in post production you gain up to 1 stop of Dynamic Range which puts it on par with the A7IV. So it seem that after all the A9III Image Quality is damn close to all other Sony cameras, a good trade of considering the benefits you get with global shutter!
