The Sony E 35mm f/1.8 OSS is certainly one of the more interesting prime lenses in the Sony NEX lineup. Even when ignoring performance aspects, the very high speed in conjunction with the optical image stabilizer (OSS) are exciting value propositions for users who are intending to go beyond snapshots. The good news is, however, that the lens is also capable of producing quality images.

Anonymous: “I have do some test on the New DXO Optic Pro 9 “Prime” Noise reduction on A77. I think the result is impressive, it effectively remove the High ISO Noise problem from A77. The only disadvantage is the processing time is a bit too long. 6mins for 36Mp D800 Raw file, 4mins for 24Mp A77 Raw file. Michael Gorman from Engadget (Click here) posted the A7-A7r “shooting review” and writes:

“These are Sony’s two finest mirrorless cameras I’ve ever used, and while they are priced at a premium level, they deliver premium results.

and…

“Shooting performance in sunny, cloudy and nighttime environments was excellent. I’d never profess to being a pro photographer, but both the 7 and 7R make it fairly easy to take really good photos. All that resolution also means that, should your framing be a bit off, you’ll still have plenty of pixels left should you need to crop some out. And as for the difference in megapixel count between the two cameras? Well, you’ll hardly notice unless you really blow up the resulting pictures. The level of detail produced by both cameras is outstanding, and despite the lack of a low-pass filter on the 7R, we saw none of the moiré effect such a filter is meant to eliminate.”

Almost certainly fake….but I love it: The super Sony FE lens roadmap!

To be clear: My guess is that this is a fake. It has been posted on xitek.com forum which is known to post many fakes but also (sometimes) real leaks. I hope trusted sources can confirm or deny the roadmap. As I said, I still think it’s fake so don’t get too excited. But if (I repeat “IF”!) this is real than this is an astonishing roadmap! One of the reason I think it’s fake is that it’s to be good to be true :)

These are the lenses on the roadmap, let me know which one you would seriously consider to buy:

in 2025 there will be no more cameras from...(multiple choice possible)
