Benefits and Improvements

  • Supports the Write Digital Signature function for still images as part of Sony’s Camera Authenticity Solution
    • Installation of a paid license is required for use.
    • The timing for the provision of paid licenses to customers other than certain media outlets is yet to be determined.

  • Fixes an issue where switching the recording frame rate immediately after shooting causes audio and video to be recorded at different speeds or results in unstable operation in subsequent recordings
  • Fixes an issue where the cursor does not move correctly when multiple identical items are registered in the function menu
  • Fixes an issue where recording video by pressing the MOVIE button in still image shooting mode causes certain button operations to stop working
  • Improves the operational stability of the camera

First images samples show with the new Schneider Kreuznach AF 14-24mm f/2.8 FE lens

The Schneider Kreuznach AF 14-24mm f/2.8 FE was developed in co-operation with Samyang (which is also the manufacturer of this lens in Korea). There is no information yet about the price and availability of this lens (except of a general 2025 note). But we have at least some pictures showing it mounted on the Sony camera:

Sigma says a new 35mm f/1.2 II FE lens is coming in 2025 and it will be smaller and better!

Sigma CEO Yamaki had a talk at the CP+ show. And there he teased the launch of a new updated version of the current 35mm f/1.2 FE lens. The new version will be:

  • Released soon
  • Be way more compact (similar design to the Sigma 50mm f/1.2)
  • Be lighter
  • Be optically superior despite the smaller size
  • Made for Sony E and Leica L mount cameras

Sigma CEO Yamaki also said there will be many ART lenses released this year!
