Panasonic announces price of their 4K GH4. Sony will have to make an “affordable” competitor.

Sony is going to release at least one (if not more) 4K cameras this year. And if you had the fear Sony would price it very high well….there is good news! Panasonic unveiled the pricing of their GH4 4K camera ($1,700 here at Amazon) and it’s actually very low! It’s $1300 less than the comparable Blackmagic 4K camera and $10,000 less than the Canon EOS 1D-C.

The Sony 4K A and/or E-mount cameras are supposed to be unveiled this summer. But I am not sure yet if it’s the A77 successor that will be the first Sony camera have 4K….

(SR5) A77II announcement in May!!!

Many(!) trusted source just told me the A77II announcement is actually scheduled for May. They didn’t share any specs yet. All we know is that it has a very fast new autofocus system, no EVF lag and very speedy processor.
I also have been told that the announcement event is quite “big”. There is a fair chance Sony will also announce some other stuff like new lenses for both A and E-mount! Hopefully new FE lenses will be announced too :)
Stay tuned on SAR, I am working on plenty(!) of amazing rumors. Some of time are a huge surprise ;)

New RCCDroid APP makes you control the A58 (and other Sony cameras too?) via tablet/smartphone.

At rccdroid.glensk.com you can read about the new RCCDroid Android App (Download here at Pplay.google.com). It’s a new App that allows USB Tethering/Remote Control of the Sony Alpha SLT-A58. But someone on the Sony Germany community also discovered that it should actually work on other cameras like the DSLR-A700, DSLR-A850, DSLR-A900, SLT-A99, ILCE-7 and ILCE-7R).

This is what you can with the Android powered device and USB connection:
Preview of a taken picture on a large display (e.g. Tablet)
Long term exposure without touching the camera (BULB)

Note: In an attempt to fix the many confusing errors present on Sony websites we plan to post them all on SAR. Let’s hope Sony will read us and fix them :)
