It’s really lens rumor time at Photokina! Samyang will launch a new 50mm f/1.2 VDSLR (Cine) lens on August 26. And as usual with their Cine lenses we expect to get both A and E-mount versions of it. There is no info about the price yet but current VDSLR lenses are very cheap and of extreme good optical quality. A full list of these A and E mount Cine lenses can be seen at BHphoto (Click here).

Back in November 2103 Zeiss promised to launch new Full Frame Lenses for mirrorless systems. Well according to a 100% trustworthy source Zeiss has scheduled a new announcement to announce those lenses. I don’t have the exact announcement date but he said it’s coming damn soon (within the next 20 days). And the trusted source said E-mount owners will love the new stuff. Hands ready on your credit card guys! :)

Our long time sources confirmed Sony will launch the new 1/2.3 inch curved(!) sensor soon. It will be featured inside the new Sony KW1 compact camera and also inside that strange lady-friendly selfie camera you see on top (leaked via Scweeny).
Here are the specs of the KW1.

Detailed look at the Sony a5100 interchangeable lens camera (found via Nofilmschool)
While this isn’t a scientific measure I just checked the Amazon digital camera Best seller rankings (Click here) to see if the new Sony A5100 got many preorders (Amazon counts orders-preorders in that list). Well unlike the A6000 to other popular E-mount cameras the A5100 didn’t even make it into the top 100 of that list. Well this may changes if you check out that list of new reviews and videos :)

In these days I had some “precious” talk with long time trusted sources. While they cannot unveil me specific info (for security reasons) they gave me some insight on Sony’s strategy:
First: This year Photokina will not be that exciting. It means that no real bigger stuff is coming from any company.
Second: Sony’s focus at Photokina will be on lenses more than on cameras (which by the way I think it’s good news as this is what we miss most now).
Third: Major innovative products will be launched in early 2015.
Fourth (the good surprise): One major good news will come soon for Full Frame E-mount. They said “you will love it”.
