Competition rumor: Pentax K-1 confirmed to use Sony’s 36MP FF sensor

Pentax will soon announce their new K-1 camera. It’s their first digital Full Frame camera and we can also confirm it uses the same [shoplink 44894 ebay]Sony A7r 36MP FF sensor[/shoplink]. The full specs are:

– Number of pixels: effective 36.4MP
– Sensor Size: 35.9 x 24.0mm
– Continuous shooting: 6.5 frames / sec.
– ISO range: 100-204800
– GPS built-in
– Media: SD, SDHC, SDXC
– Size: 136.5 x 110 x 85.5mm
– Weight: 925g

Cyberport: 70-200mm f/2.8 GM will ship on May 19 for 9.999 Euro! ..Must be an error!

German Sony partner store Cyberport (Click here) is now accepting preorders on the new 70-200mm f/2.8 GM lens. The price they show is 9.999 Euro! But I know from the history of that retailer that price is not real and they only put it there as a “placeholder” until they are allowed to publish the real price. The shipment date is more likely to be true: May 19!

The only GM lens we know little about is the 70-200mm f/2.8 (listed here at BHphoto). We don’t know price and exact shipment date yet. But the good news is that the lens is really only slightly bigger than the current f/4.o FE version.

Both ePhotozine and Photographyblog posted hands-on pictures if you want to get a “taste” of how this lens is.
