European readers who want to save some buck and take the risk to buy a grey imported camera can save 400 Euro at [shoplink 59899 ebay]Kacha on eBay UK (Click here)[/shoplink]. Grey imported means you get a 1 year seller warranty instead of the regular 2 years Sony Europe warranty. So it’s up to you to decide if this is worth the risk.

The “regular” A9 is on sale for 4500 Euro at Calumet.de. Park UK. Wex UK. Jessops.

Rafael:I thought it would be cool to share this video https://vimeo.com/207949202. It was entirely shot with a Sony A7II and a metabones adapter. The band is one of the biggest Beatles tribute bands in Brazil (they’re called Pepper Band).

Size comparison: Samyang 35mm FE and the Zeiss 35mm FE lens

Share

You can preorder the new Samyang lens at BHphoto, Adorama.

The new Samyang (Rokinon in USA) 35mm f/2.8 FE AF lens is 3mm shorter than the twice as expensive Zeiss lens. Above you can  see the image somparison via CameraSize. Here is one more size comparison by Gippsland:

Just my two cent: Instead of doing a Zeiss clone for half the price I would have done a f/4.0 pancake lens half the size of the f/2.8 Samyang and for $199. This would have been a real headliner don’t you think?

You can preorder the lens at BHphoto, Adorama.

Beautiful Sony A6500 unboxing in Sign Language by Mic Bergsma

Share

Mic Bergsma switched from Canon to Sony and also he highlights a very important advantage of mirrorless vs DSLR. He shares his emotion of unboxing the A6500 camera with his passionate sign language. In a world full of youtubers talking fast (and too much) this looked so genuine and authentic:

Sony A6500 at [shopcountry 59286]
Sony 18-105 at [shopcountry 59820]

thanks DEL for this!

North Korea Spy Drone uses Sony SLT cameras

Share

Naver reports about a North Korean Spy Drone that was found in South Korea in 2014. The curios aspect: The North Korean Army used a Sony SLT camera to take Spy pictures. The Drone has a length of 2-3 meters and fled at a relatively low altitude to escape the Radar.

I wonder why they did use SLT instead of E-mount cameras…

Thanks llynymelys!
