Usually I’d use the A7r2 for landscape shots, but on this trip I figured I might do some street photography, and so I took the A9 instead. Founds some fun abstract shots shooting buildings straight up. With the no-blackout viewfinder, 20fps, and the focus point joystick, I find the A9 to be the best all around Sony camera.

New image samples shot with the Rokinon 35mm f/1.4 FE lens. And new review with the Voigtlander 40mm FE lens

Share

Rokinon 35mm f/1.4 FE lens for $799 at BHphoto (Click here).

SLRclub posted a set of images shot with the new Rokinon lens. Hard to judge from those images how good this lens is.

Fred Miranda published their full Voigtlander 40mm f/1.2 FE lens reviews:

Voigtlander knows it has something unique with the CV 40/1.2 and priced it accordingly. It renders a special look being moderately wide while capable of high amount of blur and smooth rendering.
One can get a lens capable of similar or higher blur but it won’t match its combination of IQ, wide focal length and size. On top of that one gets full Sony E-mount native electronics.

Cinema5D posted their full Sony RX0 review:

The Sony RX0 is a great concept and a true technical achievement. I’m sure that it can shine in other types of filming scenarios, but for me as a documentary film shooter it leaves a lot to be desired. Sony would be wise to implement autofocus during video recording in the future (probably at the expense of an even shorter battery life) and to try to reduce or control the noise patten currently found in the picture.

(UPDATED) Sony registered another new camera with the code “WW541200”

Share

A chinese reader just noticed that Sony registered a new camera code “WW541200” in Asia.

This means we now have two new codes:
WW541200 (no info on original registration country)
WW940439 (Original registration in China)

It’s important to note that cameras registered first in China are usually RX or compact cameras. While System Cameras are registered first in Japan. This means the “WW940439” code is likely for a new RX camera that will be announced soon. No guarantee yet on what the other two codes are about…
