Alex:I am a Brazilian photographer and I use Sony since 2010. I made a video with places to photograph in NYC. All the photos were made with Sony A7 and A7II. I’d really appreciate if you can post it in your blog. This is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlO-jPBgWBI

Philip:I recently bought a little light for hiking with, a Zebralight H600Fd Mk IV. I think I remember you saying you hike too, so check it out. It looks great. I’ll write a review at some point, but upon trying out certain things I noticed a really weird finding! Adobe Lightroom, when you measure a grey card, gives a COMPLETELY different reading to Phase One Capture One software. http://photochirp.com/2018/02/20/lightroom-capture-one-white-balance-zebralight-h600fd-mk-iv/
I wrote about it here a bit. The post is a bit of a mess, and I’m just throwing ideas around at the moment, but if you scroll down you’ll see a photograph where it shows the different colour temperatures. Do you have both programs installed, and did you know this? I also tried shooting JPGs and comparing photographs, and Phase One Capture One matches the camera’s colours the best. I prefer the menus of lightroom so I’m not trying to push capture one as a program to use, but I just wondered if you had similar results? I don’t know if it does this with Canon cameras too, but adobe’s colours are way off.

Canon shows video shot with their new 120 megapixel sensor

Share

We know Sony will launch a new 150 Megapixel medium format sensor in 2019. But Canon surely isn’t standing quiet. Today they publsihed this video showing the image quality delivered by their 120 Megapixel APS-H sensor:

Impressive! I am pretty sure the day is coming when A7 camera will get a 100+ megapixel Full Frame sensor. Do we need it? No, but I bet it will sell like hotcakes anyway :)

Sony has the biggest booth at the NAB show (let’s hope there will be a new A7sIII)

Share

Our reader Barry noticed that Sony has the biggest booth at the NAB show 2018. The chances are high the new A7sIII will play a big role on that booth. The NAB show opens on April 9 with many press conferences taking place between April 7 and 9.

The A7sIII should have 4k/60fp and of course the new A7rIII alike body. It’s unclear yet if it will have Dual native ISO like the new Sony Venice video camera.
