The ARMOR GOLD SD Card with a stainless-steel construction that is 37x stronger than typical SD cards, it is designed to withstand grueling usage out in the wild while offering up to 210MB/s[1] write speed and Video Speed Class 60 (V60) to seamlessly capture 6K footage.

Update your OWC cards to fix a minor issue!

Share

Just recently I reported about a major price drop on the 4.0 generation Type A cards from OWC. Now you get it for $339 at BHphoto and Amazon. That’s a near 40% price drop! But there is an important info to share if you now own one of those cards:

PetaPixel reports that:

OWC discovered an unusual bug. After extended, continuous use, the card can lock up. OWC explains that this only occurs during “extreme” use, which it describes as an “edge case,” but it is technically possible to experience the issue.
If a user pushes their Atlas CFexpress Type A card to this extreme limit and runs into the issue, it will no longer be usable. However, OWC explains that the data on the card is not lost or inaccessible; it is simply that new data cannot be written on the card until the problem has been fixed.

100% confirmed! Sony will announce two new lenses in February: 16mm f/1.8 and a 400-800mm f/6.3-8.0

Share

Three trusted sources confirmed that Sony will announce those two new lenses in February:

The previously rumored 50-105mm f/2.8 G is NOT coming at CP+ and also not the Sony A7V (which is more likely to be announced in March/April).

The sources did yet not share ulterior specs about the lenses but here is my SPECULATION:

  1. Sony 16mm f/1.8 G It will be optically superior and more compact than the existing Viltrox 16mm FE. But also cost close to $1,000.
  2. Sony 400-800mm f/6.3-8.0 G Expect similar build quality and pricing of the Sony 200-600mm lens. But the 400-800mm is probably extremely lightweight and compact and perfect for long handheld wildlife shooting.

I am also working on the rumors about the Sony A7V and I think I can soon share some more reliable info. There are also rumors on TWO more Sony cameras that I am working on. Both confirmed by trusted sources. So it looks like after the CP+ show I will have do double down on my work on SAR :)
