(SR5) Sony will announce a new camera within 2-3 months!

Share

Sony officially registered a new camera with the code “WW213188”. It usually takes 1 up to 3 months until this camera will be officially announced. The registered model has Wi-FI but no Bluetooth. This camera could be the A7sIII the A6700 or a new compact camera. My guess is that this is for the A6700. The A7sIII is probably going to be announced in October-November and feature the new Sony OLED EVF that goes into mass production in November.

Also keep in mind there will be another press event this summer to definitely launch the new 400mm f/2.8 FE lens.

Pictures of D850 internal CMOS sensor clearly shows it’s made by Sony

Share

If you still had a doubt the Nikon D850 sensor is produced by Sony well here is your final proof. Astrocn.org dismantled the camera and spotted the sensor code “IMX309AQJ”. This is a Sony sensor as mentioned on Techinsights.com.

The news matters because once more confirms how dependent Nikon is from Sony. And there is no way for them to be ahead of Sony camera in terms of sensor tech unless they move to another manufacturer (is there a better one?) or Sony allows them to use better sensors than what Sony uses on the A7-A9 series (never going to happen I guess).

Thanks Olnw

Meike battery grip officially compatible with the A7III (and future A7sIII they say)

Share

As reported on Amazon US their MK-A9 battery grip is officially compatible with the new Sony A7III. In their text they claim it will be compatible with the A7sIII too. They probably made a wild guess :)

You can buy the grip at Amazon US, Amazon CA, Amazon DE, Amazon UK.

Also the original A9 Easycover is officially compatible with the A7III. You can buy it at Amazon, BHphoto, Adorama.

(SR5) UPDATE: Voigtlander 110mm FE preorders will open on June 19. Price £849.00 inc. VAT.

Share

The latest two new Voigtlander FE lenses are the 110mm and 21mm FE lenses. And Nokishita reports the preorders for the 110mm lens will open on June 19. UPDATE: Trusted sources told us the price is £849.00 inc. VAT. This is £100 more than the excellent 65mm FE lens. I am probably going to buy the 110mm FE!
