Introduction to Unparalleled Quality – Sigma 500mm f/5.6 Sony E
It was designed for mirrorless cameras, featuring a combination of exceptional image quality and an extremely compact and lightweight body. Thanks to the use of a number of specialized low dispersion glass lenses, Sigma managed to significantly reduce the lens design without the use of diffractive optical elements. At the same time, the lens has achieved high resolution that meets the expectations for a fixed-focal length 500mm lens. The lens body, consisting mainly of precision polymer parts, features excellent build quality and weather resistance, including a dust- and splash-proof design**. The Sigma 500mm F5.6 DG DN OS | Sport offers a whole new photographic experience for wildlife, aviation, sports and other fast action photographers.
Handy 500mm lens with unmatched optical performance
Sigma 500mm f/5.6 Sony E Thanks to the latest engineering techniques, the lens has been successfully minimized in size and retains a high level of image sharpness and beautiful plasticity.
At the front of the lens, intricate lenses made of special low dispersion glass have been used, so that the lens provides both high aberration correction capability and a small overall length. SIGMA’s sole manufacturing base in Aizu, Japan, guarantees high precision assembly and processing of each lens. The lens perfectly corrects all aberrations, especially axial chromatic aberration, which the camera body is unable to correct, providing stable, high resolution from the center to the edges of the frame
Great work under light – Sigma 500mm f/5.6 Sony E
The Sigma 500mm F5.6 DG DN OS | Sports uses refractive lenses in its optical system to prevent the flare and ghosting that is characteristic of diffractive optical elements. This ensures sharp, high-contrast images even when working against the light.
High-speed AF with HLA linear actuators
The lens uses a proprietary HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) which is characterized by high speed and accuracy, as well as very quiet operation. Combined with the camera’s AF system, we get very effective tracking of moving subjects, which is especially important, for example, sports photography, nature photography, or aerial photography – Sigma 500 mm f/5.6 Sony E
Extremely powerful OS2 image stabilization system
The state-of-the-art OS2 optical stabilization algorithm provides exceptional vibration reduction performance of up to 5 EV (based on CIPA guidelines). The lens features 2 OS modes:
Mode 1 for general photography,
Mode 2 is ideal for panoramic shots of motorsports and others (it provides effective image stabilization even when the subject is tracked vertically or diagonally. Regardless of the panoramic orientation, we can enjoy a beautifully sharp image).
Portability and superior build quality – Sigma 500 mm f/5.6 L-mount
The Sigma 500mm f/5.6 L-mount body is designed to be small and lightweight making the lens extremely easy to handle when shooting handheld. Thanks to the optimized optical design and the use of a body made from a combination of TSC (Thermally Stable Composite) and magnesium alloys, the lens is only 23.5cm long and weighs only 1370grams.
A wealth of features to assist discerning photographers
A manual aperture ring provides convenient exposure control. The ring rotates smoothly, or with a distinctive “click,” and we can lock it in the Auto position if needed. The lens also features a Focus Limiter switch, which allows users to limit the AF system’s working range for fast and precise focusing. In addition, we have three AFL buttons that can be assigned a number of functions through the menus of selected cameras. The AFL buttons are easy to operate regardless of the orientation of the camera and allow quick and easy access to important settings. In the L-mount version, the Sigma USB DOCK UD-11 can be used to set the operation of the operating system or the focus limiter range for the custom mode switch*.
Reinforced body housing – Sigma 500mm f/5.6 L-mount
The lens has enhanced weatherproofing to the specifications of the Sigma Sports** line. The mount bayonet, manual focus ring, switches and external connectors are equipped with gaskets to prevent dust and dirt from entering the lens. What’s more, the front lens has a water- and oil-resistant coating for easy maintenance in case water droplets or dust get into the lens.

Unprecedented resolution capability that overturns conventional views of fisheye lenses – Sigma 15mm F 1.4 Sony E
By developing a fisheye lens characterized by its ultra-wide angle and distinctive image distortion, Sigma has reached a whole new level of artistic potential, combining the world’s first F1.4 aperture with exceptional image quality both in the center of the frame and at the edge. Among other things, the lens excels in astrophotography, which requires particularly high image quality, even at a wide-open aperture. Unlike conventional “fish-eye” lenses, the Sigma 15mm F1.4 DG DN DIAGONAL FISHEYE | Art is exceptionally sharp throughout its 180° angle of view, while offering an F1.4 aperture, making it ideal for a wide range of applications, including astrophotography, landscapes and architecture. The expressive power of this all-new full-frame lens for mirrorless cameras opens up a wealth of creative possibilities in wide-angle photography.
A complement to the Art line, made with astrophotography in mind
The powerful distortion effect inherent in fisheye lenses allows users to enjoy such effects as unique perspective and capturing a subject with a 180° angle of view.
The optical design of the lens consists of 21 elements in 15 groups, including 4 FLD lenses, 3 low dispersion SLD lenses and 2 aspherical lenses. Correcting coma flare and other aberrations, the lens can accurately reproduce bright points of light across the frame, even at full aperture, making it ideal for astrophotography, which is also supported by a number of additional features:
MFL (manual focus lock) switch – Sigma 15mm F 1.4 Sony E
A switch to lock the focus in the desired position. Prevents focus shifts caused by unintentional use of the focus ring. This is useful when shooting with long exposure times.
Lens warmer mount
Sigma 15mm F 1.4 Sony E’s specially designed lens front prevents the lens warmer from slipping out* and causing vignetting at the periphery of the screen.
Rear Filter Holder – Sigma 15mm F 1.4 Sony E
The Rear Filter Bracket is a standard lens accessory that allows the installation of rear sheet filters. A locking mechanism is also available to prevent the filter from falling out.
Specially designed front lid with locking mechanism and filter slots
Stable and easy to install front lid to protect the front lens. The lid uses newly developed storage pockets for sheet filters. Designed exclusively for the Sigma 15mm F1.4 DG DN | Art lens, it effectively protects the front lens and sheet filters from scratches and dirt. With the filter pockets, they will always be ready to go and you won’t forget to bring them to your session.
Features of the Art line
Sigma 15mm F 1.4 Sony E In addition to features reserved specifically for shooting stellar
landscapes, the lens is equipped with additional features to make everyday
photography, such as the AFL button, to which any function can be assigned.
Like every DG DN | Art lens, the 15mm F1.4 DIAGONAL FISHEYE has an aperture ring with a locking option that can be used in both clic and smooth modes.
The body is sealed against dust and splash, and the front lens is coated with a hydrophobic and oleophobic coating, so you can use the lens even in harsh conditions**.
A linear HLA motor is responsible for automatic focusing, so the focus is set quickly, quietly and extremely precisely.
