Competition news: Panasonic S1/S1R cameras will be announced on Jan 31
I got solid confirmation that Panasonic will release the new S1-S1R Full Frame mirrorless on January 31. It means they will unveil the full camera specs and pricing with first shipment expected by late March.
The news matters also because those cameras will have some features that current Sony E-mount cameras do not have like:
– 4k 60p
– 100% weather sealing
– HLG photo
– Deep learning AI (we have to see if this is a marketing gimmick or somethign more “serious”)
The Fuji X-T3 is currently the king in the APS-C world and the Panasonic might yet ebcome the king in the FF world. Sony has to answer on both fronts soon!
