An Asian Youtuber accidentally published his Sony A1II review prematurely. The video has since been deemed to be removed, but here are some screengrabs and a few notes from the video:

1) Stabilization
The Soy A1II will be the first camera with 8 stops stabilization + 8.5 stops “center stabilization”. There is also dynamic stabilization mode (obviously has cropping)

2) Pre Capture
precapture from 0,03 up to 1 secs (max 30 pre-shot in RAW)

3) Image Quality:
He claims the A1II has slightly improved image quality with better detail and more dynamic range (particularly in the highlight).

4) AI features:
Automatic Multi Subject Recognition Focusing

5) New tidbits:
during video shooting you can take 10 bit HEIF photos

Hi folks. I have big doubts that the Sony A1II will support the CFexpress Type A1 4.0 standard. The original (1 month old) rumor that hinted at this possibility has not been confirmed by any leaks I’ve gotten, nor by any trusted sources.

Let’s hope the original rumor turns out to be true, but the odds are 50/50 at the moment :(

Tomorrow Sony will announce the new Sony A1II and 28-70mm f/2.0 GM lens. On paper, we know exactly what to expect:

The Sony A1II is the Sony A1 wrapped in the new A9III body and with a new AI Chip. That’s about it. While the 28-70mm f/2.0 will beat the Canon 28-70mm by 500g less weight and 10mm narrower size. Based on this early info, I’m curious if you are considering buying anything:

One of my TRUSTED sources told me something about Ricoh:

• new Ricoh GRIV camera coming in Q1 2025
• new Ricoh GRIV monochrome coming later in 2025

Now, I know this is a Sony website, but I find it interesting that Ricoh is having a huge success in this fixed lens camera market while Sony is completely asleep on the wheel. Sony had quite a successful RX camera range…let’s hope there is something coming down the road in 2025…
