(SR4) A rumor correction about the A77 tilt-screen

Yesterday I posted the rumor about the A77 directional side-hinged LCD. The source that shared the info sent me a “rumor correction”. He said the side-hinge design was not chosen for the final production camera (it was here for one of the prototypes only). The final A77 camera will have a “wishbone hinge with a centre pivot

The source apologizes for the mistake, it was not meant to mislead. He also added his thoughts about the A77: “I can confirm as others have noted to you that this model has a serious potential to be a Canon/Nikon killer. It is incredibly fast, precise and simply a dream to shoot with.”

The rumor has been upgraded from SR2 to SR4 because other sources confirmed the center pivot of the A77!

P.S.:Another trusted sources told me that High-ISO is surprisingly good for a camera having a 24 Megapixel APS-C sensor.

P.P.S.: The main competitors of the A77 are the..
Nikon 7000. Check [shopcountry 6952].
The Canon 7D. Check [shopcountry 6954].
Pentax. Check [shopcountry 6953].

An “emotional” SR5 rumor (A77 is top notch!!!)

Firstly: I want to thanks all sources for all the help you are giving to me. I am trying to post all the info you send me as soon as possible. And most of the rumors I do receive are ….awesome ;)

Secondly: There is one thing I want to tell to all readers. Plenty of people contacted me to say that they tested the A77, the NEX-C3 and other upcoming Sony stuff. They don’t share specs, they share their excitement! There is not a single one that complained about the upcoming new cameras. They are all using an enthusiastic tone! The A77 especially is amazing and the best APS-C camera they have ever tested. The good news is that High-ISO is extremely good even if the sensor has 24 Megapixel. And Sony is already working very hard to implement the new sensor technology inside the future fullframe cameras. Everything with the A77 seems to be fine, usability, autofocus (extremely fast and accurate), High ISO, resolution. And also the NEX-C3 is a step above the current NEX-3/5.

I repeat, those are not Sony advertisers. I know some of the sources since a very long time and they would never express such an excitement if it wouldn’t be true. I for myslef am going to spend more time on SonyAlphaRumors. I think it’s necessary to be more “present” in times like that. I also want to find some time to improve some things on this website ->don’t ask me to improve my english as that will take a very long time :)

So fix those dates in your agende: June 3 and July 7! And invite your friends to follow us! Canonikans should be very worried!!!

(SR2) A77 with directional side-hinged LCD (a new design not yet seen before)???

A new source sent me lots of info about the upcoming new Sony products. I am trying to double-check the rumors with other sources. But meanwhile I am going to post an info I heard for the very first time with a low SR2 rating (unconfirmed rumors from unknown source). So take that with a grain of salt!

The source confirmed the A77 is coming in July and said it will be available with the new 16-50/2.8 kit lens too. He also said the “it has directional side-hinged LCD” and that it is a “new design not yet seen before“. The [shoplink 3617]Sony A55[/shoplink] LCD hangs at the bottom-center of the camera.

Hope my sources can confirm or deny that soon. Thanks to the anonymous sender and all the sources that can help me on that!

(SR5) Noktor 50mm f/0.95 for NEX coming soon!

SLRmagic announced that the Noktor 50mm f/0.95 will be available for E-mount soon! Read the message on Twitter (Click here). The lens will be made in Japan (and with a new design). So we should expect a higher quality version compared to the Micro Four Thirds version. Do not confuse the Noktor with the [shoplink 6619 ebay]Nokton f/0.95[/shoplink] lens. The Nokton is made by Voigtländer!

P.S.: SLRmagic already made the [shoplink 3514 ebay]35mm f/1.7 lens for NEX on (Click here to see it on eBay)[/shoplink].

a bit about the future of Fullframe…

After yesterdays news about the discontinued [shoplink 3028]Sony A850[/shoplink] I got many mails from readers that asked me what will happen with Sony’s full-frame line. So here is the summary of what I know!

First of all Sony will not only keep but also reinforce the full-frame system. Until know we had the A850 and A900 which shared the same sensor and had only minor differences. We heard Sony is developing two full-frame sensors with two different resolutions. So there could be two new (and very different) full-frame cameras! Both will be announced in 2012.

I am also certain that all future FF cameras will use the translucent technology. I don’t believe Sony will use the hybrid technology from the [shoplink 6075]Fuji X100[/shoplink]. Would be amazing but technologically (and economically) almost impossible to realize.

And I also get many mails confirming to me that Zeiss is working very clsoe with Sony to develop new FF lenses.

Now let’s see how good the A77 will be. It will certainly be a good indication how terrific good the next FF cameras will be!

(SR5) Sony picture effects also for the A35 (we already knew it was coming for NEX).

On top you can see the list of all 11 new picture effects coming for the A35, the NEX-C3 and for the NEX-3 and NEX-5 via firmware update. It would have been nice to see a tilt-shift effect too. Or even better, it would be nice if you could create your own kind of effect you can share for free with the community! I should have patent that idea before to post it here :)

Reminder: Sony will announce the new cameras on June 3! You can follow us live on SonyaAlphaRumors!
