The price of the 10mm f/2.8 FF AF lens has been leaked through google shop. This contains a link to this “private” Venus Optics URL: https://www.venuslens.net/product/private-laowa-10mm-f-2-8-ff-zero-d/ref/5/. The lens is coming to your home on Jan 31.
I guess official preorders will open any time soon!

On January 24 Hasselblad will announce the new 907X 100 Megapixel X-mount back. It’s the same 100MP Sony sensor of the Hasselblad X2D. I have no info about the price but it will definitely be more expensive than their current 907x 50MP.

I am still waiting the day Sony will make a medium format camera too!

Two trusted sources confirmed that this year we will get a ton of FX/ZV cameras and powerzoom lenses.
The sources didn’t want to spoil the fun with the detailed names of the cameras but I hope this list includes the Sony FX3 and Sony A7sIII successors. While I am near certain we are getting the ZV-E10 successor. Also to be expected are new E-mount camcorders. If you are waiting for the A7IV and A1 successors you likely have to wait til 2025.

But if you don’t care about video are now depressed about this news, I think there is room for some surprises for you…stay tuned because “focused on video” doesn’t mean we will not get something nice for pure photographer ;)

The A7sIII is the oldest Alpha camera in the lineup. But does it still make sense for Sony to make a A7sIV if you have the very successful FX3 camera? While my trusted sources still didn’t let me know if there is a new A7sIV is coming in 2024 one of the WILD rumors I got (therefore high chance of BS!!!) says the following:

• A7s-series will not be further developed in favor of FX-series
• FX3-successor has global shutter
• 12,9 MP, 4k, 180p
• fanless
• EVF as an accessory
• Announcement end of March

Now, I warned you this might be BS. But in some sense…this rumor also makes a lot of sense. Why bother to develop and release two new cameras if you can do all in one? What do you think?

The image on top show the X-mount version of the new Viltrox 56mm f/1.7 APS-C autofocus lens. There will be an E-mount version too! The pricing is rumored to be about the same of the 20mm f/2.8 (around 150 Euro/Dollars). I hope also to get soon some info about the 135mm f/1.8 FE which is rumored to have excellent image quality fo ra third of the price of the Sony 135mm GM.

I am not going to link to those websites but readers kept asking me frequently today what I think about those rumored Sony A7V specs. In short…those are just self made “creative” speculations from websites that never got ONE single rumor right!
