All the reviews I checked out so far make it clear that this is an extraordinary lens. The “II” suffix” may mislead you to believe this is a smaller update. But it is not. It’s an entirely different class compared ot the predecessor. Here are a few feedbacks:

Lenstip reviewed this lens and wrote that this lens deserves a “round of applause”.
ThePhoBlographer wrote that lens is “really fantastic”.
PetaPixel writes “top-end performance to keep pace with the newest cameras”.
Imaging Resource writes “fantastic upgrade to an already excellent zoom lens”.
CameraLabs says this is “the best overall on the market” (when it comes to 70-200mm lenses.
Amateur Photographer writes: “simply performs exceptionally well”

There is no doubt this lens is a winner and will work fine on my future 102MP A7RV…LOL :)

UPDATE: Dpreview just posted a closer look article.

Sigma 150-600mm review at Dpreview: “compelling offering”

The new lens is finally in Stock for the first time via BHphoto, Amazon, Adorama, FocusCamera. In EU at Park UK.

Dpreview published the full Sigma 150-600mm review and concluded:

Overall, we find the Sigma 100-400mm F5-6.3 to be a compelling offering. Ergonomically it’s great, in large part thanks to its clever zoom torque control and the push-pull zooming it allows. It’s also a very sharp lens that’s really not as bulky or expensive as you might expect for its focal range and maximum aperture.

First worldwide review of the Tamron 18-300 for Sony: “Recommended for travelers who want a quality mega zoom”

Tamron 18-300mm E lens In the USA at BHphoto, Adorama, FocusCamera. In EU at Fotokoch, Foto Erhardt. WexUK.

SonyAlphablog posted the worldwide first review of the Tamron 18-300 for Sony. He concludes:

The Tamron 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD (749 euros) is a pleasant surprise. Yes it is heavy , yes it is very long , yes the aperture is quite small but image quality is there with very good sharpness , some very nice color rendition and smooth background blur when used at close distance.
It is much better than any of the numerous 18-200mm available , than the Sony E 55-210mm F4.5-6.3 OSS. It is simply the best all in zoom zoom for Sony E mount.
It will be ideal for travelers that want to take only one zoom with them and shoot from landscape, street, portrait to animals photography
The zoom is equipped with image stabilisation which is a big plus for most Sony APSC cameras (except A6500 and A6600 that have sensor stabilisation).
AF is quick and precise in good lightning conditions but don’t except miracle with an aperture of 6.3 at 300mm in low light, ISO will climb very fast.
For video if you do static plan it delivers very good results but the zoom ring is very stiff and you can’t get a smooth zooming while filming
Recommended for travelers who want a quality mega zoom
