May not everyone is happy with that lens but at least Amateur Photographer said that “the AF is quick and the pictures are sharp…The resulting images are sharp and crisp, with attractive out of focus areas. In all, I am very pleased with the results…the results demonstrate that it really will be excellent value for money“. Not bad at all…

There is no day passing without someone posting NEX reviews!
1) One of our preferred reviewers Steve Huff tested the NEX cameras!
2) Systemkameraforum.de posted a NEX3 and NEX5 review available in german and pdf only!
3) Focus Numerique tested the Sony NEX-3 in New York! (google english translation)

SLRgear tested the Sony 35mm f/1.4 lens and wasn’t really satisfied with the image quality at f/1.4: “Sharpness performance is quite soft, and chromatic aberration is high; further, on a full-frame body, corner shading is also quite high“. But they also say that there isn’t any better alternative lens on market. You have to spend $1360 to get the lens on amazon.
My suggestions is to take a look at the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM Lens (click here to see the lens on amazon). Ok it is 5mm wider but it costs $439.00 only!

I always check Photozone and their lens reviews. Their latest Samyang 14mm f/2.8 review is quite a surprise: http://www.photozone.de/canon_eos_ff/532-samyang14f28eosff. They tested the lens on a Canon but the same lens is also available here on eBay for Sony Alpha cameras } if ($loc == 'ES') { $sel = "1"; ?>available here on eBay for Sony Alpha cameras } if ($loc == 'IT') { $sel = "1"; ?>available here on eBay for Sony Alpha cameras } if ($loc == 'AT') { $sel = "1"; ?>available here on eBay for Sony Alpha cameras } if ($loc == 'DE') { $sel = "1"; ?>available here on eBay for Sony Alpha cameras } if ($loc == 'BE') { $sel = "1"; ?>available here on eBay for Sony Alpha cameras } if ($loc == 'AU') { $sel = "1"; ?>available here on eBay for Sony Alpha cameras } if ($loc == 'FR' OR $loc == 'FX') { $sel = "1"; ?>available here on eBay for Sony Alpha cameras } if ($loc == 'NL') { $sel = "1"; ?>available here on eBay for Sony Alpha cameras } if ($loc == 'CA') { $sel = "1"; ?>available here on eBay for Sony Alpha cameras } if ($loc == 'US') { $sel = "1"; ?>available here on eBay for Sony Alpha cameras } if ($sel != '1') {?>available here on eBay for Sony Alpha cameras } ?>. The lens itself costs 320EUR/420US$ works on both FF and APS-C cameras. The image quality is surprisely high! Photozone itself says that this is “may be the surprise product of the season”. One more review is available here on Dyxum.com
A little bit weird that the lens is sold with 4 different brands (Samyang, Bower, Rokinon, Walimex)! That’s why on Amazon US you find it as “Rokinon 14mm f/2.8” (click here).
Engadget just posted the first Sony NEX-VG10 preview: http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/15/sony-nex-vg10-hd-camcorder-preview/
In Short: “stunningly accurate colors, sharp 1080/60i picture, and impressive audio sensitivity“…that’s a good start!
A new very detailled Sony NEX-5 review has been publoished on Photographyblog. Also Buy-n-shoot tested the same camera.
