Electronista (Click here) tested the new Sony NEX-C3: “And yet, with those limits in mind, we really liked shooting with the C3. As small as it is, the camera produces good quality with little adjustment. Whatever you might think about the speed of the interface, it’s simple and does a good job of making photography accessible without leaving experienced photographers stranded by the side of the road. Most surprising was its tendency to punch above its weight class for noise. Many mirrorless interchangeables flounder past ISO 800, but the NEX-C3 has just enough extra performance to go a notch further.”

Also Wired (Click here) tested the Sony NEX-C3: “Incredibly small and light, considering the large sensor and bevy of features inside. Excellent low light performance with DSLR-like low noise images at high ISOs. Tilting 3-inch LCD screen for composing over-the-head “Hail Mary” shots is helpful. Takes 400 shots on a single charge, so leave the battery charger at home. Comes in silver, black or pink.”

UPDATE: Also Cnet Asia (Click here) wrote about the NEX-C3: “With its beginner-friendly features and simple user interface, we think the NEX-C3 is a good entry-level option for first-time users who want something light and portable. In addition, seasoned users who are sticklers for image quality but are hesitant about making the move to ILCs may find this camera a worthy purchase.”

Kurt Munger (Click here) reviewed one of my favorite lenses, the Samyang/Rokinon 35mm f/1.4 lens: “Optically speaking, the Rokinon 35mm F/1.4 is excellent, with very high sharpness at almost all apertures, low distortion, minimal light fall-off at F/2, and no coma, even in the far corners at F/1.4!  Probably the biggest drawback for most people is the fact that it’s a manual only lens, meaning there is no communication between the lens and camera (Sony models)”

Oliviatech (Click here) compèared the Sigma and Samyang/Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 lenses. They are both cheap but very good alternatives of the Zeiss 85mm f/1.4 lens. If you don’t care about manual focusing only than get the Samyang lens! You can find it with different names:

Sony wake up! Release a new 200mm lens that has at least the same terrific performance! Photozone reviews the 28-75mm f/2.8 lens!

[shoplink 7704][/shoplink]The Sony 28-75mm f/2.8 SAM has been tested by Photozone (Click here): “The Sony 28-75mm f/2.8 SAM is an affordable alternative to the Zeiss ZA 24-70mm f/2.8. Technically it isn’t all that far away from its bigger brother – both have a weakness at max. aperture specifically with respect to the corner resolution. However, the Zeiss is generally more snappy here (higher contrast) – this aspect is not exactly a strength of the Sony lens. ”
