Portraits with the Sony 400mm 2.8 GM | Breakdown with Miguel Quiles

400mm f/2.8 FE preorder at BHphoto, Adorama, Amazon, FocusCamera. In EU at Calumet.de and ParkCamera.

Miguel Quiles did use the new Sony 400mm 2.8 GM lens to shoot portraits. At Petapixel he reported the results of the test:

“Whether I was shooting from really far away to be able to get full-body shots or I was shooting up close to get those tight portraits, the focus was rock solid.
If you are a working professional photographer and you want to have portraits that look different than the lion’s share of the competition that’s out there, I’m going to consider getting something like the 400mm f/2.8 G Master lens,”

Sony FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS Review by Photographylife

New  review of the Sony 100-400mmGM Lens on Photographylife:
Honestly, the Sony 100-400mm GM lens is a marvelous lens that in my opinion is better than its Canon counterpart. Sharpness is fantastic, focus speed and accuracy is phenomenal when paired with the Sony A9, and overall handling is very good. The only gripe I have with the lens is the weather sealing which is not up to par with Canon lenses. I had some issues with condensation building up inside the lens during high humidity situations when my Canon lenses had none. Hope Sony do something about their weather sealing…

Tony&Chelsea Northrup do NOT recommend the Nikon Z because of poor focus and stabilization performance

The video on top from Tony and Chelsea Northrup shows how the Nikon Z is definitely NOT living up the hype. I think this is one of the biggest differences I ever saw between technical specs written on paper and the real world results. If I would be a Nikon shooter I would wait 2-3 years until the full lens range has been deployed and a more mature camera released before to buy into this system.

And now some genuine trolling: For years Nikon folks said Sony cameras were not serious because of the single card slot and now suddenly this is no more an argument for them….so please let me post this :)
