Lensvid talked to Yann Salmon-Legagneur, Head of Imaging Products & Solutions Marketing, at Sony Europe. An interesting conversation, but no hints about future products… yet.
Note: In this video I don’t mention the 1 inch sensor info that Fujirumors posted right after I published it
What happens if you turn the Sony RX100 on its side? You get this new FujiFilm camera that will be launched in 2025! Yes, Fuji will announce a new camera with a VERTICAL Sony 1-inch sensor. I guess the idea is to make this camera for “creatives” who usually only post vertical images and videos.
The “portrait” sensor allows them to frame the image properly and get photos/videos that can be shared immediately. Now I am an “old” photographer and am not at all interested in such a camera. But I applaud Fujifilm for at least trying to get the attention of these “influencers”. Sony, on the other hand, will probably not embark on such an adventure.
On October 14 Venus Optics will announce two new lenses:
55mm f/2.8 Tilt Shift lens for Sony Full Frame cameras
100mm f/2.8 Tilt Shift lens for Sony Full Frame cameras
It has ±12mm of movement and ±10° of tilt. No info on pricing yet. Thoe look like nice lenses but I would have loved to get a wider end version too for proper architectural photography.
