Looks like Sigma is playing with the idea to make a competitor for the Tamron 28-75mm FE lens. A new patent describes the following lens:

• Focal length: 28.79-83.51
• F value: 2.92
• Angle of view: 75.61-27.77
• Image height: 21.63
• Overall length: 135.02-164.94
