First images samples show with the new Schneider Kreuznach AF 14-24mm f/2.8 FE lens

The Schneider Kreuznach AF 14-24mm f/2.8 FE was developed in co-operation with Samyang (which is also the manufacturer of this lens in Korea). There is no information yet about the price and availability of this lens (except of a general 2025 note). But we have at least some pictures showing it mounted on the Sony camera:

And first image samples shot with this lens can now be found at Lenstip (Click here).

Sigma CEO Yamaki about the 15fps limitation

From minute 44 you can see Chris asking Sigma CEO Yamaki about the Sony limitation of 15 frames per second. Yamaki cautiously replies that it is difficult for him to comment on this and that of course he hopes this will change in the future.

I hope Sony realize that they are hurting themselves by imposing such a strict restriction.

The full interview can be followed from minute 20 to 55.

Curiosity: I have made ZERO pre-orders for the Zeiss Otus lenses through my affiliate links. What’s going on with them?

I just realised that not a single SAR reader has pre-ordered a single Zeiss link through my affiliate links. And in general, store managers told me that reorder numbers were extremely low. I suspect there are a number of reasons for this:

  • These lenses are expensive lenses with manual focus.
  • Meanwhile, there are many extremely good lenses that cost less or/and have autofocus (like the Sony 50mm GM or the Sigma 50mm lens).
  • Some said these are just Cosina lenses with a Zeiss logo on them. While I suspect Cosina makes these lenses, I’m pretty sure Zeiss is behind the design of these lenses.

I would ask you to comment on this post and let Zeiss know why you have not reordered the new OTUS FE lenses.
