As noticed by our SAR readers the Hasselblad Lunar is completely gone from the Amazon US site (Click here to see …the nothing). I don’t think they are gone because they sold out :)
By the way, it seems that Hasselblad A-mount cameras will also come in 2014! At least this is an info I got a couple of weeks ago. But if the Lunar will not sell I highly doubt they will keep insisting with that “luxurious” strategy.
Hot deals for US readers:

Samsung just announced the Galaxy NX camera which runs entirely on Android Jelly Bean (4.2.2) operating system. To put it in an easy way this is a 4.8-inch LCD Galaxy smartphone with NX mount, grip and viewfinder around it. It is the first camera built on the idea of full connectivity and Android APP support. A couple of hands-on articles can be read at Photocomment, Digitalcamerainfo, dpreview, engadget, digitalcamerareview and at Imaging Resource.
Why should we care about it? I honestly don’t know if this is the future of cameras. But it may be that more manufacturers will follow Samsung’s path. IN theory these kind of cameras gives you access to a huge potential of photo apps you can use with it. So let SRA readers know what you think about it by commenting this post and voting that poll:
Jaakko: “I tough that maybe you or the SAR readers would be interested of Some Outdoors and action sport shots Taken with Sony gear in North Europe. I use Sony NEX 6 and Sony A99 with various lenses. Photos can be found from my blog that are under my homepage here http://www.jaakkoposti.com/blog-2/”
Jose: “Found a really good place to get Lightroom Lens Profile for Sony A99V with Zeiss lens. http://www.lensprofiles.com/”
Arthur: “Just wanna share my flickr photostream, there are some example of rhinocam shots in original size ( 10000×10000) http://www.flickr.com/photos/tesloturar/”
Julien: “Here are two videos filmed with a Sony Nex F3 and Sony E 18-55. This Nex is used in my work. The assembly is made with windows live movie maker. Link 1, Link 2.”
Aniceta: “I am Italian and I have discovered there is a fantastic review of the Sony DSC-RX100 here: hifipertutti.”
Allan: “Early spring morning, with a beautiful sunrise. Sony NEX-5n@18-55 http://vimeo.com/67866823“
And now the Touit: Robert Cicala (Click here) ripped the Zeiss Touit lenses to see what’s inside. He writes:
“This thing is built well. Those of you who have misgivings about polymer (rather than metal) construction in a lens of this size, put those to rest. It’s built like a Zeiss; I expected no less. I was a bit skeptical about the choice of a DC motor to provide more power, but I have to say, they definitely chose a large, powerful motor, so that was probably just me being cynical. The overall construction and design were very solid, reminding me of a Zeiss or Leica rangefinder lens; much higher construction quality than many of the E mount lenses I’ve opened up.”
Tamron just announced the shipment date of the new 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. It will be in Stock in Japanese store by June 27. Coming later in EU and US stores. in US you can preorder the lens at BHphoto.
Sony will soon announce their first smartphone with high quality and large sensor. And it will have to compete against the just announced Samsung S4 zoom. That hybrid camera and phone features a 1:2.3 inch sensor (same size as most compact cameras) and a 10x zoom. That marks the end of the compact camera business. The Samsung S4 zoom and the new Sony Cybershot Mobile will still be very expensive. But the price will go down in future with every new release. In 2-3 years form now almost nobody will buy a “pure” compact camera anymore.
SAR reader Laszlo (Thanks!) noticed that the new 50F14Z is now shown on the carl zeiss website. As you may remember Sony Japan (Source DC.watch) delayed the launch of the new Zeiss 50mm f/1.4 A-mount lens because of the “exceptional high demand of preorders“. The lens is set to ship in early July according to Amazon (Click here) and BHphoto (Click here).
