Confirmed: Sony A1II sticks to the “old” 30fps and 8k4p features…but there is maybe one good news ;)
Yesterday I reported that I “feared” the Sony A1II would be pretty much be a conservative facelift. Overnight two trusted sources (thanks!) confirmed the Sony A1II will indeed have:
- Same A1 sensor
- Same 30fps as the predecessor
- Same 8k30p as the predecessor
But there may be some good news: According to one source, the price of the A1 will be reduced when the Sony A1II will be launched. And the price of the A1II will be roughly the same as the current price of the A1. So, if you were thinking to buy the A1 you can soon get it for a discount or you buy the A1II for the same price it has now.
Reminder: NEW features over the first generation Sony A1are:
- Sony A9III body
- Pre-Capture
- 3.2 inch vari angle screen
- 8 stops stabilization (Sony A1 has 5.5 stops)
- AI chip which allows to have all the A9III goodies like accurate subject recognition, improved AF and so forth
- New 4.0 CFexpress Type A card for faster buffering
