100% confirmed! Sony will announce two new lenses in February: 16mm f/1.8 and a 400-800mm f/6.3-8.0

Share

Three trusted sources confirmed that Sony will announce those two new lenses in February:

The previously rumored 50-105mm f/2.8 G is NOT coming at CP+ and also not the Sony A7V (which is more likely to be announced in March/April).

The sources did yet not share ulterior specs about the lenses but here is my SPECULATION:

  1. Sony 16mm f/1.8 G It will be optically superior and more compact than the existing Viltrox 16mm FE. But also cost close to $1,000.
  2. Sony 400-800mm f/6.3-8.0 G Expect similar build quality and pricing of the Sony 200-600mm lens. But the 400-800mm is probably extremely lightweight and compact and perfect for long handheld wildlife shooting.

I am also working on the rumors about the Sony A7V and I think I can soon share some more reliable info. There are also rumors on TWO more Sony cameras that I am working on. Both confirmed by trusted sources. So it looks like after the CP+ show I will have do double down on my work on SAR :)

If you have more info about the next Sony cameras and lenses you can share send me a message using this contact box or at sonyalpharumors@gmail.com. Thanks! To not miss any new rumor subscribe our newsletter and social networks:
